Majuli Island: Majuli Island is a first river Island in the Brahmaputra River, Assam which became the district in 2016. Majuli Island is listed in World's largest river Island in Guinness Book of World Records. Spread over an area of 352 Sq. Kms was once covering the area of 880 Sq. Kms. Majuli is continuously shrinking as the river surround Majuli is growing. Majuli is accessible only by ferry ride from the town of Neamati Ghat about 12 km from the nearest main city of Jorhat. Assam’s former cultural capital, Majuli’s main attraction are the Satras (monasteries) where you will see unique Neo-Vaishnavite culture founded some 600 years ago.

Kamakhya Temple: Kamakhya temple, Kamakhya Devalaya, is a Hindu temple dedicated to the mother goddess Kamakhya. Kamakhya Temple is one of the oldest in 51 Shakti Pithas in Hindu Mythology. Kamakhya Temple is an important pilgrimage site for Hindus and especially for Tantric worshipers. There is no idol of Goddess Kamakhya in the temple complex, but she is worshiped in the form of female genitalia of stone. In Kamakhya Temple famous Ambubachi Mela is celebrated during month of June and devotees from all over India come for the blessings of the goddess.

Tawang Monastery: Tawang Monastery the largest monastery of Indi & second largest in the world just after the Potala Palace in Tibet. Tsomgo Lake: A tranquil and scenic lake, Tsomgo Lake is one of the most popular attractions of Gangtok. This glacial lake is considered holy by Sikkimese people. There is a temple dedicated to Lord Shiva, located on the banks of the lake. The place is a paradise for bird watchers as get to spot a number of Brahmini ducks and migratory birds near the lake. Located at a distance of around 16 km from Tsomgo Lake is Baba Mandir. A popular pilgrim center, Baba Mandir, the shrine is built in the memory of Baba Harbhajan Singh, who was an Indian Army soldier and lost his life near Nathu La Pass.

Nohkalikai Waterfalls: Noh Ka Likai waterfall is the highest Plunge Waterfall in India. Elevated at the height of 1115 m the waterfall is located in Cherrapunjii. During Northeast Trip to Meghalaya this is one of the best attraction to visit. As per the legends it is believed that a woman named Likai was jumped as her daughter was killed by her second husband. Access and permits to visit North East

Northeast India is open for the Tourist but there are certain places like Arunachal Pradesh, Bumla Pass, Nathula Pass where permits are required. One can get these permits arranged through a tour operator or issued by the authorities of respective State Government office.

For domestic tourists: Indian nationals require Inner Line Permit (ILP) for Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland and Manipur. In the case of Mizoram, tourists travelling by road will need an ILP to pass through Nagaland, while those arriving by air can get a permit on arrival. ILPs for Arunachal can also be obtained online.

For international tourists: Arunachal Pradesh and Sikkim are two states that require a foreign visitor to obtain Restricted or Protected Area Permits (PAP) before entry to each state. Foreign tourists visiting Nagaland, Manipur and Mizoram must register themselves at the Foreigner Registration Office within 24 hours of arrival.
